Cluster I: P-Kreisläufe und -Flüsse in der Umwelt

Cluster I des WissenschaftsCampus Rostock hat Phosphorflüsse und -kreisläufe in der Umwelt im Fokus. Phosphor gelangt durch nicht geschlossene Wirtschaftskreisläufe in die Umwelt und entlang der Fließgewässer bis ins Meer. Ziel ist ein besseres Verständnis der P-Flüsse und Kreisläufe in der Umwelt, um zum einen die Auswirkungen der hohen P-Einträge zu analysieren und zum anderen Schutz- bzw. Rehabilitierungsmaßnahmen zu diskutieren. Dies beginnt an den „Quellen“ z.B. mit dem Aufbringen des Düngers auf landwirtschaftliche Flächen und den Effekten der künstlichen Entwässerung (Dränagen), aber auch an den Auslässen der kleinen und großen Kläranlagen in die Gewässer. Und setzt sich über die Phosphorflüsse in verschiedenen Ökosystemen, von speziellen Bodenkrusten über Küstengewässer bis in die großen Ostseebecken, fort. Methodische Herangehensweisen in Cluster I umfassen von Messungen auf kleinster Skala bis hin zu Ostseeökosystemmodellierung verschiedenste Größenordnungen und Instrumente.
